Jessie Barr is an award-winning filmmaker, actor, and teacher with a deep foundation in classical training and a career that spans theater, independent film, and television. A graduate of NYU Tisch and the Classical Studio, she studied Shakespeare with Tim Carroll of the Royal Shakespeare Company and has performed with The Shakespeare Company in Washington, D.C., among others.

Jessie’s workshops are rooted in rigor, spontaneity, and emotional truth. She brings a unique blend of classical technique and contemporary performance insight, helping actors connect deeply to language, character, and impulse. With professional experience at institutions including Lincoln Center, Williamstown Theater Festival, and Naked Angels—and a body of screen work recognized by Sundance, Tribeca, and The New York Times—Jessie creates a space that is both disciplined and alive with creative risk.
